Annual Slash Collection

Each year the WR HOA coordinates a day for collection of neighborhood branches and excess/dead forest material ("slash") that you may have gathered up from around your property in order to make your home better able to withstand a wildfire, and the forest more resilient in the event of a wildfire (see tips & strategies at firewise.org). West Ranch is a Firewise community and we encourage all residents to take full advantage of this opportunity!

For 2024, our HOA is hoping to sponsor TWO slash pickup days this year.  One in early summer and one in late summer (exact dates TBD, but will likely be dates in June and September).  In order to minimize the amount of time that slash piles are sitting out by the road, we are asking that residents do not start putting out slash by the road until one month before the pickup date, once announced.

A reminder email will be sent prior to this with specific guidelines on stacking your slash piles, maximum pile dimensions,  as well as what materials are acceptable and what are not.

Note: For residents who have historically signed for the InterCanyon fire department slash program as well, we regret to inform you that this program will unfortunately not be available to West Ranch this year.

Any questions, feel free to reach out to Slash coordinator/resident Mike Daehnick (#40).
